WorkCover Certificates — Same Day, via Telehealth

Injured at work? Get your Certificate of Capacity issued during a same-day video consultation with a SIRA-experienced doctor. $0 out-of-pocket with a valid claim number.

We bill your insurer directly — no upfront payment, no Medicare rebate to chase.

What Is a Certificate of Capacity?

A Certificate of Capacity is the medical document required for all WorkCover claims in NSW. It certifies your current work capacity, outlines treatment recommendations, and specifies any workplace restrictions or modifications needed for your recovery.

Under the NSW workers compensation system, you need a Certificate of Capacity to make a claim, to continue receiving weekly benefits, and each time your condition or work capacity changes. Your employer and insurer require this document to process your claim and manage your return-to-work plan.

Claims Doctor provides same-day Certificates of Capacity via telehealth. Our doctors are experienced with the SIRA system and understand what insurers need — so your certificate is accurate, complete, and accepted the first time.

How It Works

Book your consultation online or call us. Same-day appointments available 7 days a week. Have your claim number ready if you have one — if not, we can still see you.

What You Need for Your Appointment

If You Have a Claim Number

Your WorkCover claim number, insurer name, employer name, and a description of your injury. That’s it — we handle the rest. Your consultation and certificate are $0 out-of-pocket.

No Claim Number Yet?

No problem. We can see you before your claim is lodged and provide the initial Certificate of Capacity you need to start the process. The consultation fee is $85 — which your insurer reimburses once your claim is accepted.

WorkCover FAQ

Is telehealth accepted for WorkCover certificates in NSW?

Yes. SIRA has formally endorsed telehealth as a valid mode of consultation delivery for WorkCover certificates. Your Certificate of Capacity issued via telehealth is fully compliant and accepted by all NSW WorkCover insurers.

How much does a WorkCover consultation cost?

$0 out-of-pocket with a valid WorkCover claim number. We bill your insurer directly at SIRA-gazetted rates. If you don’t have a claim number yet, the initial consultation is $85, which your insurer reimburses once your claim is accepted.

Can I use Claims Doctor as my Nominated Treating Doctor?

Yes. Under the NSW workers compensation system, you have the right to choose your own treating doctor. You can nominate Claims Doctor as your Nominated Treating Doctor (NTD) at any time — even if you have been seeing another doctor for your claim.

How often do I need a new Certificate of Capacity?

Your insurer typically requires a new certificate every 28 days while you are receiving weekly benefits. If your work capacity or condition changes, you may need an updated certificate sooner. Claims Doctor makes follow-up consultations easy — same-day appointments, same $0 cost.

What if my employer or insurer doesn’t accept telehealth?

They must. SIRA has endorsed telehealth for WorkCover consultations, and insurers are required to accept certificates issued via telehealth. If you experience any pushback, contact us and we’ll help resolve it.
